Your Dashboard is the first screen you see after logging into your Staff Portal. It provides a centralized view of key information, quick navigation options, and important updates to help you get started efficiently.
[Accordion] Overview
Your Dashboard is a visual workspace that displays data, tasks, and shortcuts in an organized, easy-to-scan format. Dashboards help staff stay informed and work efficiently without having to search through multiple screens.
Clinics can have system-wide Dashboards, preconfigured layouts that cannot be modified to ensure consistency and compliance, as well as custom Dashboards that users can design to fit their workflow needs. Custom Dashboards allow users to choose which widgets, metrics, and shortcuts appear, giving staff a personalized and relevant experience right upon login.
[Accordion] Getting Started
Clinics can create role-specific Dashboards tailored to the needs of different job functions. This enables each user group to see the information most relevant to their work.
[Note] You can view a staff member’s roles by navigating to the Staff Info screen and opening the Basic Info tab.
For example, an administrative user may benefit from performance indicators such as outstanding balances or the number of new admissions. In contrast, a clinical user might prefer to see metrics such as the number of open cases without completed Progress Notes that are due in the next week.
[Accordion] Customizing Your Own Dashboard
Click on the cogwheel on the right of the Dashboard toolbar and click New for a blank canvas or Clone to make a copy of an existing Dashboard that can be customized.
You can create a New Dashboard tailored to your specific workflow needs. This includes selecting the layout, choosing relevant widgets, and configuring the information you want to display for your role or team.
You can choose from one of the available templates and then add the widgets you prefer. Depending on the layout you choose, you will see widget options for Individual Stats (gray), Large Graphs (green), Small Graphs (orange) and Tables (blue).
Click the Add button to select from a list of available widgets to create a Dashboard with indicators like open cases, upcoming Progress Notes, or tasks requiring attention for your assigned patients.
Once you’re done, optionally click the [[img:star]] icon (located at the top left of the toolbar) to set it as your default Dashboard.
[Accordion] Best Practices
Identify what information you need at a glance.
Keep It Focused and Action-Oriented: A Dashboard shouldn’t display everything. It should show what requires attention. Use widgets that highlight:
Overdue tasks
Upcoming deadlines
Status changes
Key metrics (counts, open items, new items)
Avoid overcrowding with too many metrics or widgets. Aim for:
5 - 8 core items per Dashboard
Clear grouping of related information
Short, descriptive widget titles
Limit Visual Noise
- Use Consistent Naming and Structure: Maintain predictable labels and widget formats across roles:
- “Open Cases”
- “Notes Due This Week”
- “Pending Approvals”
- Prioritize Real-Time, High-Value Data
Review and Update as Needed
