The Patient Summary: Prescriptions form displays all current prescriptions for the selected patient. It is a read-only view intended for reference purposes only. All prescription entry and updates are managed through the ePrescribing Portal.
[Permissions] The staff member must have Full permissions to the Patient Summary module [Staff > Staff Info > System Permissions > Patient Summary]

Use the Patient Summary: Prescriptions form to view a patient’s current prescriptions that have been entered into the ePrescribing Portal.

- [[img:sync >> lbl:Sync Data]] Automatically sync data between the Patient Summary module and the eRx Portal, ensuring that updates made in one are reflected in the other. This ensures that the latest/updated problems, allergies, medications, and prescriptions are accurately reflected in the Patient Summary and eRx Portal for consistent record management. This is a two-way sync, so any Prescriptions you add in the eRx Portal will also sync back to Patient Summary: Prescriptions

- Created Date: The date the prescription was initially created
- Completed Date: The date the prescription process was completed
- Signed Date: The date the prescription was signed by the provider
- Stop Date: The end date for the prescription
- Send Date: The date the prescription was sent to the pharmacy
- Undeliverable Date: The date the prescription failed to reach the pharmacy
- Effective Date: The date the prescription becomes active for the patient
- Prescriber: The licensed provider who authorized the prescription
- Preparer: The individual who prepared the medication
- Acknowledged Date: The date the prescription was reviewed or confirmed
- Acknowledged By: The name of the person who acknowledged the prescription
- Send Method: The method used to send the prescription(e.g., Electronic, Print)
- Status: Current status of the prescription
- Voided: Indicates if the prescription has been canceled
- Completion Action: Displays any follow-up action taken to mark the prescription as complete
- Associated Problem: The diagnosis or condition linked to the prescription
- Error Information: Notes or details related to issues with the prescription
- Generic Name: The generic name of the medication will be displayed
- Brand Name: The brand name of the medication will appear
- NDCID: National Drug Code identifier for the medication
- Schedule: Classification of the drug, including whether it is a controlled substance
- Substitution: What approved alternative medication can replace the prescribed one
- Dosage Form: The form of the medication (e.g., tablet, ointment)
- Strength: The prescribed dosage of the medication
- Action: Indicates how the medication should be taken
- Quantity: The amount of medication prescribed
- Unit: The unit of measurement for the prescribed quantity(e.g., capsule, ampule, etc.)
- Route: The method by which the medication is administered (e.g., inhale, oral, inject)
- Frequency: How often the medication is to be taken each day
- Other: Additional instructions related to timing or method (e.g., before meal, after meal)
- Duration: How long the medication is prescribed for
- Quantity: The quantity of the medication prescribed (e.g., 10 tablets)
- Quantity Units: Unit of measurement (e.g., capsules, ampules, etc.)
- Refills: Number of refills allowed
- Pharmacy: The Pharmacy where the patient needs to collect the medicines from
- Directions to Pharmacist: Instructions provided for the pharmacist
- Directions to Patients: Instructions provided for the patient
- Comments: Additional notes or remarks related to the medication

[Q] What does the Sync Data button do?
[A] The [[img:sync >> lbl:Sync Data]] button automatically updates the information between the Patient Summary form and the eRx portal. This ensures that all data, including prescriptions, allergies, and other medical information, is synchronized for accurate and up-to-date records.
[Q] What happens if the prescription was not delivered to the pharmacy?
[A] If a prescription fails to be delivered to the pharmacy, the Undeliverable Date will be recorded. You may need to follow up with the pharmacy or the prescribing provider to resolve any delivery issues.
[Q] Can I edit or update prescriptions from this form?
[A] No. The Patient Summary: Prescriptions form is read-only and intended for reference purposes only.
