[Accordion] Overview
The Signature component gives you the ability to capture and manage signatures from clients, parents, guardians, and other caregivers. It also allows you to capture and manage signatures from staff members, including supervisors and clinicians.
It supports both hand-drawn signatures on a digital canvas and credential-based staff authentication using a staff member’s password or Signature PIN, depending on the type of Signature component you select. You can also use digital signature pads to collect signatures.

Patient Signature
The Patient Signature allows the patient to sign directly on a digital canvas, confirming their consent or acknowledgment
[[img:draw >> lbl:Capture]] Click/Tap to open a canvas and draw the signature
- [[img:save >> lbl:Save]] Click/Tap to save the signature on the client record
- [[img:cancel >> lbl:Clear]] Clears the signature from the canvas for the client/external member to re-sign
- [[img:close >> lbl:Cancel >> bg:grey]] Click/Tap to close the dialogue without saving any changes
Other Signature
The Other Signature option is used when a guardian or authorized individual (such as a parent, legal guardian, or other representative) signs on behalf of the patient after entering their relationship and name details.
- Select Signer (required): Choose who will sign on behalf of the client
- Other (Specify): If the signer type is other, you must specify the relationship to patient
- Enter Signer Name (required): Enter the full name of the authorized signer
Steps to capture a parent/guardian signature:
- For Mother, Father, or Legal Guardian:
- From Select Signer Field buttons, select Mother, Father, or Legal Guardian
- Enter your name, if not prepopulated
- Click/Tap [[img:check >> lbl:OK]] to open the signature canvas
- You can now sign using the mouse, or touchscreen. Click/Tap [[img:save >> lbl:Save]] to confirm or [[img:cancel >> lbl:Clear >> bg:red]] to redo
- For Others:
- From the Select Signer field radio buttons, select Other
- In the Other (Specify) field, enter the person’s relationship (example: Aunt, Grandfather)
- In the Enter Signer Name field, type the full name
- Click/Tap [[img:check >> lbl:OK]] to open the signature canvas
- You can now collect the Signature. Click/Tap [[img:save >> lbl:Save]] to store it or [[img:cancel >> lbl:Clear]] to redo
Supervisor/Clinician Signature
[[img:Draw >> lbl:Sign]] Click/Tap to open the Signature dialogue
- Select your name from the Select Staff Name dropdown
- Enter your login password or Signature PIN (configured at: Staff Info > Additional Options > Set Signature PIN) and click/tap [[img:draw >> lbl:Sign]]
Requesting Signature from a staff member
You can also request that a specific staff member, clinician or supervisor sign documentation.
- [[img:Person_Edit]] Click/Tap to send a signature request to a staff member
- Choose the staff member's name from the dropdown and click/tap [[lbl:Request]]
- Clicking/Tapping on [[img:table_edit >> lbl:Request]] will compose a message to the respective staff member
Clearing Requested Signature to a Staff Member
To cancel an already sent signature request to a staff member:
- Click/Tap on the [[img:cancel >> lbl:Clear Request >> bg:red]] button in the signature component. The system will remove the existing pending signature request and signature status will be reset.
- Submit a new signature request if required.

- Sign (Patient/Guardian): Opens a canvas to draw a signature
- Clear Signature (All Users): Removes an existing signature or request
- Sign (Supervisor/Clinician): Opens a dialogue to select staff and enter a password
- Request (Supervisor/Clinician): Allows you to request a signature from another staff member
- Clear Request (Supervisor/Clinician): Allows you to remove the pending request and reset the signature field, so a new request can be initiated if needed.
[Reference] Rely on timestamps to verify when and by whom the form was signed or requested.

[Q] The password isn’t working in the supervisor dialog. Why?
[A] Make sure the selected staff name matches the staff member entering the password.
[Q] Why don’t I see the Clear Signature button?
[A] The Clear button only appears after a signature or request is made.
[Q] Can I change who I requested a signature from?
[A] Yes, click/tap [[img:cancel >> lbl:Clear Request >> bg:red]] to clear the signature request, then request a different staff member.
