[Accordion] Overview
The Document Library feature allows you to store external standard documents, forms, and reference materials. This feature consolidates files and provides a single, organized location where documents can be added, maintained, and accessed efficiently.
The Document Category can be maintained via the Maintenance Menu > Related Document Category Input. You can choose to link a document to a patient, creating a copy of the file and placing it in the selected patient's Related Documents repository.
[Tip] If you see different labels than what is shown in this article (e.g., Patient vs Client), your system may have Custom Labels applied. You can verify and update these by locating "Custom Labels" in the Global Search.
[Accordion] Getting Started
Use the Document Library feature to provide a single, organized location for all official documents and templates, to quickly view and download the latest versions.
- [[img:add >> lbl:Add New]] Upload new documents, templates, forms, or reference files into the Document Library.
- [[img:person_add >> lbl:Link To Patient]] Generate a patient-specific copy of a standard document. Choose the desired file from the Document Library by selecting the checkbox beside it.
- [[img:folder_open >> lbl:Related Documents]] Opens the Related Documents form to upload and manage external files related to a specific patient’s record.
- [[img:close >> lbl:Cancel >> bg:#afaf8c]] Close the Document Library dialog.
Adding a new document
- Document Category (required): This field classifies the document into categories such as Clinical Summary (CCDA), Continuity of Care Document (CCD), Progress Notes, Manuals and so on. You can update or add a Document Category from Maintenance > Related Document Category Input.
- Description (required): Provide the name/title to identify the purpose of the document.
- File Path (required): This stores the location of the file you are uploading. Click/Tap [[img:file_upload >> lbl:Upload]] to select the document from your device.
- Comments: Notes for use by the staff/clinicians creating the Document Library entry.

[Q] Can I upload multiple documents at once?
[A] At present, documents must be uploaded one at a time by clicking/tapping the [[img:add >> lbl:Add New]] button. Each upload requires a Document Category, description, and file selection.
[Q] How can I manage Document Categories?
[A] All Document Categories (e.g., CCDA, CCD, Progress Notes, Manuals) are configured through the Maintenance Menu > Related Document Category Input. Only those entries marked as Active will appear for selection.
