[Accordion] FAQs
[Q] Why is patient consent required for HIE?
[A] Patient consent ensures compliance with privacy regulations and gives patients control over how their health data is shared and accessed.
[Q] What does it mean when consent is “Active”?
[A] Active consent means the patient has granted permission to share their health information across the HIE network.
[Q] What happens when consent is “Revoked”?
[A] When consent is revoked, healthcare organizations can no longer access or share the patient’s information through the HIE unless new consent is given.
[Q] Can I record when consent will expire?
[A] Yes. You can enter an expiration date for consent, after which the patient’s data will no longer be shared until the consent is renewed.
